Those controls address an important problem, but not the whole problem. Josephine begins where a different problem remains: What protects consequential work already in motion while management needs time to understand what is happening and react?

Stopping an AI agent may sometimes be necessary. But stopping the AI and protecting consequential work are not necessarily the same thing.

Josephine is designed to protect the work by creating that time.

A payment may be moving. A settlement may be approaching commitment. A claim may be progressing. An approval may be triggering downstream activity. By the time management recognizes deterioration, consequential work may already be moving across AI agents and systems.

Rather than requiring a company to reconstruct every AI-agent interaction before protection can begin, Josephine focuses on evidence about the state of the consequential work. When that evidence supports protection, Josephine is designed to operate only within protective authority established by the company.

Josephine is not intended to replace agent identity, cybersecurity, permissions, governance, monitoring or human control. Those systems address controlling AI. Josephine addresses what happens to the consequential work.

WHY NOW

An EY US AI Risk and Governance Survey released September 15 surveyed 202 senior AI decision-makers at publicly traded U.S. companies with at least $1 billion in annual revenue. Ninety-one percent reported agentic AI in pilot or deployment. Among organizations using agentic AI, 85% said at least some systems execute actions without real-time human involvement, while 49% said their governance framework had not yet been updated specifically for agentic AI. Thirty-six percent of all respondents reported an AI incident or failure that caused materially negative impact, including financial damage and operational disruption.

The survey does not validate Josephine. It independently illustrates the operating problem Josephine is being developed to address.

EVIDENCE BEFORE CLAIMS

Josephine has undergone controlled synthetic testing. Its most demanding test to date involved 18 interacting agents across six workflow branches, including cross-branch and interacting deterioration, authority denials, protection-delivery failures, explicit effect evidence and hidden ground truth.

In a controlled counterfactual, the unprotected workflow reached irreversible consequence at synthetic simulation step 8. With Josephine protection, irreversible consequence did not occur through the tested horizon, providing at least 21 additional synthetic reaction-time steps.

These are simulation steps, not minutes or hours. The results are not presented as real-company proof, production validation, regulatory certification or independently verified commercial performance.

The next evidence has to come from the real world.
