Trump Administration Brings in $280B in SelectUSA Investment – More Than All Previous Program Years Combined

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration today announced that SelectUSA has helped secure more than $280 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) during the Trump Administration—exceeding the combined total achieved during all previous program years since SelectUSA’s launch in 2011 ($255 billion). The $280 billion already secured under the Trump Administration is more than four times the $68 billion generated during the same time period of the Biden Administration. This monumental Trump Administration achievement includes more than 345 investment projects expected to support approximately 55,000 American jobs.

Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Lutnick, the United States is attracting unprecedented levels of FDI as companies around the world seize the opportunity to invest, expand, and manufacture in America—driving economic growth, strengthening American industry, and creating more jobs for American workers. SelectUSA—working in close coordination with the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service—plays a central role in ensuring the United States remains the premier destination for inbound investment.

“Under President Trump, America is the greatest place in the world to invest, build, hire, and expand,” said Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. “At the SelectUSA Investment Summit, we bring together industry, innovators, and global investors to help deliver the opportunity to invest across the United States. Not only do SelectUSA investments earn spectacular returns, but they also strengthen our communities and support tens of thousands of high-paying American jobs across our great country.”

“SelectUSA is playing a critical role in driving unprecedented foreign direct investment, fueling economic growth and creating good-paying jobs in communities across America,” said Under Secretary of Commerce William Kimmitt. “The Trump Administration will continue its relentless efforts to make the United States the premier destination for investment, helping companies expand their operations, build in America, and hire American workers.”

The annual SelectUSA Investment Summit, hosted by Secretary Lutnick, showcases the results of the Administration’s focus on FDI by connecting thousands of investors, companies, economic development organizations (EDOs), and industry experts. In 2026, the Investment Summit catalyzed more than $56 billion in new and planned investment commitments. Over 5,500 participants from 100 markets participated in the 2026 Investment Summit, which hosted over 1,100 economic developers representing 55 U.S. states and territories.
